Service Description

Description of Service

Social Housing sheltered accommodation: for customers over 60 years with a support need or with a medical need for sheltered accommodation. The scheme itself is on the Headland, close to local shops, bus route and beach. There are 45 properties within this scheme across various blocks, with 42 two bed roomed apartments, 2 one bed roomed ground floor fully adapted apartments, 1 three bed roomed house which is linked to the scheme. Some blocks are serviced by stair lifts to the upper floor. The apartments consist of living room, kitchen, bedroom/s, bathroom and passage. The scheme benefits from a community hall where all activities are held. Within this hall is a laundry, salon, kitchen and toileting facilities. All apartments have access to pull cord system to call for assistance in emergencies. There is a scheme officer who can be contacted for assistance or advice. Stay Independent: self-contained apartments one or two bedrooms with lounge, kitchen, bedroom and private bathroom. 24-hour support: access support anytime by calling our contact centre or by speaking to onsite staff. Outside agencies: we have good links and communication with other support providers and Hartlepool Borough Council so the right care can be accessed when identifying individual needs. Community: use of all on-site facilities and activities. We try to create social able and friendly community.

Rent and service charges can be discussed on an individual basis. If you are in receipt of care you will be assessed through Adult Social Services and advised what contribution you will pay towards the cost of the care received.

There are stair lifts to the upper floors within each block, also wheelchair accessible in the communal building. All flats have Tunstall alarm system. There is a door entry system to each flat at the entrance of the building. We can provide support, advice and access to adaptations for each tenants individual needs. Communal areas are also accessible for our Tenants diverse needs.
