Access to Work

Access to Work helps you when health or disability impacts the way you work. It might pay towards the equipment you need at work. Adapting premises to meet your needs. Or, getting a support worker

You may be able to get Access to Work if you are:

  • In a paid job

  • Unemployed and about to start a job

  • Unemployed and about to start a Work Trial

  • Self-employed

  • Your disability or health conditions stops you from doing certain parts of your job

If you think you may qualify for help from Access to Work. You will need to contact the regional Access to Work office.  The office responsible for Hartlepool and the North East is in Glasgow.  You can contact the office by:

If you prefer. You can visit the Disability Employment Adviser at the Jobcentre Plus office in Hartlepool. 

Their office is in Wesley Square, opposite the Grand Hotel on Swainson Street. Pay and display car parking is available in the town centre. Local bus services stop nearby on Victoria Road.
