Prize draws and lottery scams are letters than falsely claim you have won a large cash prize or lottery, oftening asking you to call an expensive phone number or pay a fee to claim your winnings. It's important to remember, the prize does not exist and the scammers will continue to ask for more money. 

If you pay the requested amount to claim the prize, they will say there has been a problem and request more money before releasing the winnings. This will continue to happen and you will never get the money.

• if you play a real lottery, check the official website to see if you’ve won

• do not call numbers from letters you don’t trust

• do not send money to claim a prize
