Woodlands is a residential care home located in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire. We provide specialist care and support for up to 14 people with brain injuries.

Supporting you
Our home is carefully designed and adapted to meet the needs of every person who lives here. Our aim is to help the people we support increase their confidence and regain as much independence as possible.

We work closely with the people we support to understand their goals and provide them with the right support.

We offer a range of therapies including speech and language, Neuro-physiotherapy, Neuro-occupational therapy, Psychology input and creative therapies. Programmes are carefully designed and integrated into daily routines.

Our support is based on rehabilitation techniques which strive to increase your independence and, where considered appropriate, progress is monitored closely using Goal Attainment Scaling.

We encourage you to create your own activity programme, which is tailored to your interests and makes full use of facilities available in the local community. A diverse programme of activities is offered, tailored to individual tastes. These include outdoor pursuits, music, art and life skills workshops.

Facilities
Woodlands is a two-storey home with 10 en-suite bedrooms, one self-contained flat and three step-down bungalows. Individuals have the option to transition from one of our bedrooms to the independent flat/bungalows as their skills improve.

All rooms have the option of ceiling tracking if required, and our home is wheelchair accessible throughout.

Our home has lots of shared communal areas, including a spacious living room, dining room and kitchen. This offers the people we support flexibility to socialise with others or spend time alone.

We also have a large garden, and a separate mindfulness garden where we grow a variety of plants.

Woodlands is situated in the pleasant, residential area of Acklam, Middlesbrough. Our home is perfectly placed for community engagement, as it’s near to many local shops, leisure centres, and education facilities.

Our dedicated team ensure the people we support remain connected to the community by helping them take part in a variety of activities, based on their personal preferences and needs.

We encourage our housemates to regularly access the community by enjoying outings to the local leisure facilities, bowling centres, ice skating rink and shops.
