Passports
You can apply for a passport in any one of four ways. You can:
- complete the application online. The Identity and Passport Service (IPS) will print out the completed form and send it to you to sign and return with supporting documents
- request an application form onlineand the IPS will send one to you in the post
- call the Passport Adviceline 0300 222 0000 and ask the IPS to send an application form to you in the post
- collect a form from a Post Office branch that offers the Passport Check and Send service. This includes the Post Office in Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, the Rift House Post Office on Oxford Road and the Heugh Post Office on Northgate on the Headland. You can use your postcode to search for other suitable Post Offices on the Direct.gov website.
Passport fees
Standard adult passports cost £88.50. Standard passports have 34 pages and are valid for 10 years. If you were born on or before 2 September 1929 your passport is free of charge.
