Help to Live at Home
If you would like to continue living independently in your own home there is help available to make this possible.
Live Well Suite
Drop in to Community Hub Central, York Road and have a chat to qualified professionals who can help you stay safe and independent in your own home.
They will talk to you about managing all aspects of daily living and if helpful, provide you with some options for equipment which may help you both inside and outside your home.
No appointment required. Drop in to the Hub each Wednesday between 10am - 1pm or email [email protected] for further information.
Personal Home Care
Personal Home Care providers and Personal Assistants offer a wide range of services such as assistance to get washed or dressed, help with eating or help with cleaning your home.
If you choose to employ a Personal Assistant with your Personal Budget, you and the Personal Assistant will agree the support you need.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) website also provides inspection reports about services and a star rating system for performance.
Personal Nursing Care
You may need more specialised help in your home from a qualified nurse. If you need someone to help with medication, dressings or similar tasks, personal nursing care can help you to stay at home and still receive the care you need.
The CQC website also provides details of agencies that can offer nursing care but please remember that any inspection reports and star ratings are now three years old. The costs of nursing care will depend on which agency you use and what services you receive.
