Heart Disease
Heart disease is the UK's biggest killer, with one in every four men and one in every six women dying from the disease.
What is coronary heart disease?
Coronary heart disease occurs when fatty build-up blocks blood supply in your coronary arteries.
Over time, the walls of your arteries can become furred up with fatty deposits. This can lead to your coronary arteries becoming narrower. This restricts the blood flow to your heart. This can cause chest pains, or angina.
If a coronary artery becomes completely blocked, it can cause a heart attack.
