Chiropody

Basic hygiene and regular nail cutting can keep your feet healthy. But, when your feet develop problems, it's best to seek professional help.

Chiropodists, sometimes called podiatrists, are specialists in the total care of the feet. They treat a wide variety of conditions, from verrucas and ingrown toenails, to arthritis.

Although they work with people of all ages. They play an important role in helping older people, and disabled people. To help people stay mobile and independent.

Whether you can receive free chiropody treatment on the NHS will depend on:

  • Availability in your local area

  • How serious your condition is

  • How quick the treatment will take.

You can either contact your GP to get a referral to the chiropodists. Or, you can self-refer to the North Tees Trust by:

  2. Or, you can contact the Specialist Services at 01429 522471, Option 1. Available Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
