Nursing Homes

A nursing home might be right for you if you are ill or have a disability and need help often. You may not be able to stay at home because you need more care.

Nursing homes give the same help as care homes, but they also have nurses there all the time. This means you can get care 24 hours a day.

Some nursing homes give special help to people with learning disabilities or mental health problems.

Hartlepool Borough Council can help you find a nursing home that suits you.

The NHS pays for the nursing part of your care. You might still need to pay for things like your room, food, and personal care.

If you need ongoing special treatment (called continuing care), the NHS will pay for everything.
