The main entrance has two sets of double doors. There is a push-button on the left-hand side of the outer doors and the right-hand side of the inner doors. The doors open towards you. The entrance to the Museum has a set of manual double doors however they will be held open during opening hours.

The Museum of Hartlepool Quayside is now open to visitors and can be accessed at the Quayside entrance within The Museum of Hartlepool. The Quayside has level block paving surfaces suitable for wheelchair users, and there is outdoor interpretation to read along the railings. Water safety equipment is also available along the Quayside railings.

The museum is one level throughout.

There is a large car park alongside the Museum with 8 accessible parking bays and a dropped kerb to the entrance of the Museum.

There is an accessible toilet within the reception area, close to the Museum entrance.
