Baptism Preparation Meeting

05 Jun

Event description

The Sacrament of holy Baptism is the beginning of the whole Christian life, one which is a call to holiness. Baptisms are a regular and essential part of the life of the parish and something we are always very happy to do. Certain things are necessary to prepare for your child’s baptism: • Regular attendance (weekly) at Mass • Attendance at a preparatory session If you would like to put your infant forward for Catholic Baptism, your first step is to complete an application form. These are available on our website, or from the back of our Churches. You are then invited to a Preparation meeting - these are on the first Wednesday of every month at 6pm, in the Parish Centre Hall which is at St Joseph's Church. You only need to attend one meeting. This meeting is an opportunity to meet the Deacon or the Priest, ask any questions you may have, make your offering in the available envelopes, and secure your special day in the diary with your completed application form. We don't need to meet the child at this point, so it is fine to come alone. The meeting usually takes around half an hour. Without attendance at a Preparation meeting, your Baptism is not booked.
