Living Well with Dementia Video

A Hartlepool support group for people living with dementia has made its small-screen debut with a film.

'Our Voice Matters' is a group of local people living with dementia, who wanted to do something fun and memorable to show how they're living well with dementia and what support is available in the town.

With dementia awareness week coming up on 15 May, they settled on making a movie.  Group members selected a song, crafted lyrics and set up shots to illustrate their lived experience of having dementia and directing people to The Bridge, Hartlepool's dementia advisory service.

Following an official launch of the film at an event at the Masonic Hall on Monday 8 May, its now available to view on YouTube (see below)

The group is supported by Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust's Community Mental Health Team and The Hospital of God.  Other local organisations involved in the film included Hartlepool Borough Council, Radio Ignition and Dementia Friendly Hartlepool.
