Hartlepool Carers offers an employment project to assist carers wanting to find both full-time and part-time work.

The Job Club meets on Wednesdays 9.30am - 12.30pm at Hartlepool Carers, 19a Lowthian Road, Hartlepool, TS24 8BH and is available to all registered members of Hartlepool Carers. As well as linking up with the Hartlepool Carers’ specialist recruitment support worker, visitors to the Job Club can link up with Hartlepool Job Centre Plus lead on carers - Kath Tate, who can carry out ‘better off for work’ calculations etc.

Hartlepool Carers will meet with carers at times to suit them, unpick skills and identify aspirations, prepare CV's and personal profiles, contact employers direct to 'sell' individual skills, work with carers to build confidence and develop work-related skills, (which can include arranging voluntary work and work trials). Once carers are in employment, Hartlepool Carers carry out regular reviews with carers and their employers to help with job retention, and continue to provide ongoing support to carers with their caring roles.

This service is available to any adult or young person who looks after a family member, friend, relative or neighbour, regardless of whether or not they are in receipt of Carers' Allowance'.
