The Tees Valley Bridge Card is part of a national scheme which aims to help those who would normally have difficulty using public transport.
Carriers of the card - which is free - can use it to let bus drivers and railway staff know that they may need some extra help, such as needing a little extra time to get to a seat before the vehicle moves off.
The Tees Valley Bridge Card is a joint venture between the five Tees Valley authorities (Hartlepool, Redcar and Cleveland, Middlesbrough, Stockton and Darlington) and local bus and train companies. Each authority has a stock of Bridge Cards which are distributed by organisations such as Shop Mobility.
For more information or to get a Bridge Card contact Middlesbrough Shop Mobility on 01642 254545
