The scheme itself is between Thornton Street and Sheriff Street, which is close to the town centre. There are 28 one and two bed roomed self contained apartments with lounge, kitchen and level access bathrooms. There are also 10 two bed roomed bungalows surrounding the scheme, which benefit from front and rear gardens. 4 of the apartments are fully adapted, with rise and fall kitchen units and fully adapted bathrooms. There are 2 lifts to the upper floors and an assisted bathroom on the ground floor. Whilst there is the space in each apartment for a washing machine we also have a communal laundry facility available to our residents. There is a scheme manager on site from 8:30am until 5pm Monday to Friday who can offer advice and support. 24-hour support: all apartments have access to pull cords and each individual offered a pendent to call for assistance in emergencies. There is care provided onsite 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, which is provided by Comfort Call. They are commissioned to provide care and support through a Social Services Support Plan and Assessment, which is accessed through Hartlepool Borough Council Social Services. Community: whilst the scheme doesn't benefit from a bistro, there is a communal lounge and kitchen area for the use of the residents. The hairdressing salon is available for use by residents own hairdresser to the scheme. There is also a communal garden. Our aim is to try and create a sociable and friendly community.
