Catcote Academy

We are committed to and passionate about the learning and progress of our pupils. Staff and governors have high aspirations for our children and we aim to provide a high quality, relevant and balanced education for all our students that focuses on individual, personal and academic achievement that will enhance the life opportunities for our young people as they move into the adult world.

Students at Catcote Academy have a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, as well as lots of strengths and abilities.

All students have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan.

The SEND Code of Practice 2015 provides guidance to schools on how to implement the law. It groups needs in different areas:
o Communicating and interacting
o Cognition and learning
o Social, emotional and mental health difficulties
o Sensory and/or physical needs

We have an Admissions Policy which sets out the different kinds of needs that we can meet at the Academy. This includes students with learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, communication needs and social and emotional difficulties.
