Teesside Hospice - Palliative Care Centre

Our care is for available for anyone suffering from a life-limiting illness. This includes conditions such as cancer, respiratory disease, heart disease, Parkinson’s, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis and end stage dementia. Staying on our unit enables you to access our 24-hour specialist care in a comfortable and relaxed environment. A real home from home, where your needs come first, and friends and family members can come and go as you please. We will do everything we can to make your stay just as you would like it to be. Our unit features 10 ground floor spacious individual rooms with en-suite facilities and family members are welcome to come and stay with you if you wish. All rooms are furnished to a high standard with specialist beds, comfortable seating, TV, WiFi and easy access to our beautiful garden areas. You will have control of your care plan and the reassurance of a nurse call system with nurses available 24 hours per day and a doctor available on call at all times. You can also enjoy our other facilities such as the craft room, hairdressing salon and complementary therapies during your stay. Your length of stay is determined by your specialist palliative care needs, many patients are admitted for symptom management and discharged back home. Teesside Hospice is here for you and your whole family. We offer a wide range of services, providing physical, emotional, social, psychological and spiritual support, ensuring we respect and encourage individuality, dignity and self-esteem. Our holistic approach to care extends to relatives and friends both during their loved one’s illness and through bereavement. We work in close partnership with all health and social care professionals involved in a person’s care, including GP's and district nurses. Our aim is to make sure patients and their families have access to specialist palliative care, in the belief that each person is entitled to dignity and choice within the best provision of care.
