My Sister's Place
My Sisters Place is an independent specialist ‘One Stop Shop’ for women aged 16 or over and have experienced or are experiencing domestic violence. Our approach is rooted in an understanding of the gendered nature of violence against women and girls, and recognises the way intersecting factors such as age, ethnicity, sexuality and disability can affect women’s experiences and the journey through recovery. Women and children have a right to live free from all forms of violence and abuse, and society has a duty to recognise and defend this right. My Sister’s Place takes this responsibility seriously and works with a wide range of partners to generate the best outcomes for women and children. My Sisters Place works closely with a range of partners that support male victims and male perpetrators. Respect National helpline; offering support and advice and can signpost you to your nearest service. In Middlesbrough, we have 3 options for perpetrator work: 1. Route 2 – One to one work for standard and medium risk cases Tel 01642 241873; e mail info@route2.org.uk 2. A 30 week respect accredited programme delivered by Harbour tel: 0845 602 7440 or 01429 268 600 3. A Court mandated programme for men who have been convicted of an domestic violence offence – this would need to be recommended by the probation service within the pre-sentence report.
