Service Description

Description of Service

We are a small grass roots charity, delivering services to people with Dementia, their carers, family and friends, on Teesside.
Unlike larger organisations we get no statutory funding of any kind. We rely on the generosity of our supporters and the kindness of the general public., and every penny donated goes to the services we provide.

Dementia is still largely hidden behind doors down every street. We strongly believe that you can still live a good and active life with Dementia, you just need some support and care.
We are dedicated and passionate about improving the lives of people with Dementia and their carers, by supporting and caring for them.

At present we offer Carer Support Groups once a month in Stockton on Tees, Thornaby and Ingleby Barwick; these are opportunities for Carers to meet and socialise, share experiences and solutions.
We have three Dementia Café venues at Stockton on Tees, Thornaby and Preston Park Museum, this is an opportunity for people with Dementia and their Carers to meet up once a month in a relaxed environment; volunteers are available to guide with relevant advice and information.
We also offer a Carer Contact Service; this service is available to Carers to chat about day to day issues, providing support and advice.
We also offer monthly social events including, ten pin bowling, shopping, park and museum visits.
