Service summary

Nacro Homes Agency Teesside

Nacro’s Justice team works with young and adult offenders in prisons and in the community. We offer a wide range of services for a variety of different client groups to support people to change their lives and to prevent and reduce crime and the risk of reoffending.

Our goal is to reduce reoffending and help people both in prison and on release to change their lives and positively reintegrate into society. We operate in 14 prisons, young offender institutions and one secure training centre, offering a wide range of practical support.

Nacro provides services that reduce crime and reoffending. We seek to make communities safer.

We have worked in partnership with police, probation, health services and many other partners for almost 50 years. We work with our colleagues in Education, Housing and Health who work with partners in prison healthcare and resettlement services, mental health and substance misuse services.

We provide information, advice and guidance, and signpost and support service users to find places in education, training or employment and to obtain suitable, stable and affordable accommodation. This includes referring young people and women to more specialist services.
We offer support directly or provide introductions to other agencies and providers.

Our services in custody are designed to help reduce crime and reoffending. From the moment a person is received into prison, through to release back into the community, we deliver practical support and provide information, advice and guidance.

Nacro Homes Agency Teesside is an accommodation and support service in County Durham, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Stockton for single women over the age of 18, with or without children, with a housing and support need.

This service is suitable for those people who require low level support. Additional support may be provided by the Nacro SWITCH project or together with other agencies.

Properties offered are usually self-contained one-bedroom or studio flats for single people or two/three bed houses for families with children. Residents can stay for a period of six months to three years. We will support residents to move on to fully independent housing in a planned, positive way.
