Service Description

Description of Service

Age UK Teesside offer free information and advice services that can help with money matters that include welfare benefits, housing options, social care, local issues and other issues affecting people aged 50 plus who live in Teesside.

Call in Time is our free telephone friendship service for people aged 60 and over. We will match you with a trained supported volunteer who shares your interests, and will call you once a week for a friendly chat.

Who will benefit from Call in Time?
People who:

• are aged 60 or over
• live on their own or are a carer for someone else
• feel lonely and lack a social support network
• are comfortable having a chat on the phone

Call in Time also works with local Age UK's to ensure people can receive additional help and support if needed. Mandy of our members and volunteers build up fantastic friendships over the phone and we receive lots of positive feedback from those who have used the service about the benefits it brings to them.

Call 0800 434 6105 or email: to find out more information about receiving friendship calls, or to refer an older person you know.
