Description:

We are a small family run nursery with staff who are passionate about child development and are willing to go the extra mile to make sure children have the best possible start to their early life providing quality learning experiences to ensure they are ready for school.

Kiddikins Nursery is situated within a Children’s Centre having the added security of the local authority maintenance and security team. We occupy part of a Children’s Centre with our own secure entrance, exit and outside play area, situated within the other part of the building are Health Visitors, Health Team and Family Support Workers who are always available to offer advice and support to nursery staff.

The aim of our nursery is to equip children with the skills and knowledge they need to explore and understand the world around them.
We believe that children grow and develop when they have access to a well thought out learning environment and engaged adults.

Children truly deserve to be in the driver’s seat when it comes to their learning development and should be treated as active participants in their education and not just sit back, listen and be taught.

There is an exceptional care towards an inclusion inspired curriculum which is built around a learning group approach that fosters social and cognitive development

Although literacy and numeracy are recognised as an important part of our curriculum, children are encouraged to express themselves and their knowledge through fun play opportunities, painting, sculpting, dramatic play, dancing, writing (symbolic), construction, puppetry and many other expressive activities that support children to create stories and support children taking an active part in their own learning journey.

As an advocate of personal, social and emotional education, Kiddikins Nursery believe that if we get this right children's educational development will follow much more easily. Consequently, much of our work revolved around enhancing children's self-esteem and educating for self-knowledge.
