A community allotment project in Hartlepool is to stage a special event to enable people to find out more and get involved.  The Hartlepool Council-led Waverley Terrace will open its doors to visitors 2pm - 4pm on Thursday 31st August.

Hartlepool Borough Council are working with Aapna to promote day service opportunities for older people from the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Community.  What is Aapna Services? Aapna services is a registered charity and its aim is to promote social inclusion.  It provides and supports BME communities to participate more effecively with the wider community.

Age UK Teesside are seeking volunteer befrienders to visit older people living in Hartlepool who have been identified as lonely and/or socially isolated.  Just one hour per week can make a very big difference to an older person's outlook on life and visibly improves their mental wellbeing.  "There is a really, important need for this service.
