Free courses available in the North East
British Red Cross are delivering face to face workshops for groups in North East England. During lockdown they adapted workshops so they could be delivered online via Zoom and added some others. Here’s a little more information on the workshops that are available:
Adult First aid (over 19 years)
Build confidence and willingness to help in a first aid emergency using the objects around you. Informal workshop looking at how you can help in a first aid emergency situation – topics are selected to suit the group participants.
Adult Tackling loneliness (over 19 years)
41% of adults have reported feeling loneliness since lockdown. Feeling lonely and isolated can make life challenging, especially during a crisis. It can be difficult to know how to help. This workshop aims to give you the opportunity to speak openly about how it might feel to be lonely or isolated and learn skills to help others who may be suffering.
Adapt & Recover (over 19 years)
This workshop will explore tools and strategies to build resilience. You will learn to help yourself and others adapt and recover from challenges by identifying practical and emotional skills that help when faced with a crisis. The workshop will be based around interactive activities and group discussion, with chances to reflect and share personal experiences.
