Don't quack like a duck, soar like an eagle!

Eagle soaring in the sky

Apologies for the delay this month, we propose that November should have 33 days in it next year – is anyone up for a petition!

We have had an amazing month! Launching two choirs, a project that promotes ‘random acts of kindness’, being nominated to represent the Voluntary and Community Sector on the Health & Well-being Board, attended the MenTELL event, as well as welcoming a new worker to our team, on top of our usual commitments – phew!  For more information about our choirs and #plantamemory, please don’t hesitate to contact Ronnie, our Community Engagement Worker at projects@incontrol-able.co.uk

Did you know today is International Day of People with Disabilities? So, it is quite apt that we can celebrate it in our monthly blog. As part of our involvement with CLIP, we’ve been invited to speak to Members of the Council and others at the Audit & Governance meeting later this month about the ‘Social Model of Disability’ – we’ll let you know how it went!

Our friends at CLIP are running an event on the 8th December on the subject of accessibility.  Places are limited, so to book a place, please email Tracie at enquiries@clip.uk.com   Get your voice heard, don’t be forgotten, support CLIP and remember #OneCommunityAThousandVoices

To see a new Bill get past the first hurdle to enable people with Downs Syndrome to live better lives is a start to a more inclusive World, seeing it go through would be amazing.

When it comes to December for some reason, I associate it with food!  What better then than to find Apps that cut waste and save you money! Can I just ask, ‘is anyone going to eat those pigs in blankets, because I don’t mind forcing them’?!?!

Just a little bit about us before we go:

As registered #CovidCommunityChampions we post regular updates of the latest guidance on our social media pages.

Our ‘Blue DICE’ service, in partnership with the Community Hubs continues to achieve great outcomes for the people attending. Keep an eye on our social media pages for our latest drop-in sessions, pop along, meet the team and enjoy a cuppa in the newly opened #ChattyCafe

Please remember we manage the www.hartlepooladvocacyhub.com and identify appropriate and timely advocacy support to people who meet the eligibility criteria.

Finally, we would like to thank everyone who has supported us this year and wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a Healthy and Peaceful New Year!

Joke of the Month: Our local Poundland is selling a 65” TV for a quid, but is has a faulty volume button. But for a quid, you can’t turn that down!

My wings are aching, the eagle has landed – see you next year!
