As we hurtle towards Christmas, with all the panic buying ahead of us, I thought I would jump forward to the New Year when we start to think about being healthy again after the over-indulgences of the holiday period!

I thought I would start with ‘Movember’ and I don’t mean that you all have to grow a moustache this month!  I mean that I, We and You all commit to take up some gentle exercise this month and if we can raise a bit of money for a good cause that is close to our hearts, then all the better!  The bonus is that it is for people of all abilities.  Follow this link for more information https://uk.movember.com/get-involved/move

Whilst staying on the healthy theme for a moment, have you heard about the ‘H.E.L.P.’ Scheme?  It stands for ‘Hartlepool Exercise for Life Programme’ and it is an easy way to access professional advice to get you back on the right track.    Follow this link for further information and contact details for the programme file:///C:/Users/micha/Downloads/Hartlepool_Exercise_for_Life_Programme_2013.pdf

To finish on a lighter note –  A magician was working on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. The audience was different each week so he did the same tricks over and over. The problem was, the captain's parrot saw all the shows and began to understand how the magician did every trick. He started shouting in the middle of the show: 'Look, it's not the same hat. Look, he's hiding the flowers under the table. Hey, why are all the cards the ace of spades?' The magician was furious but, as it was the captain's parrot, he could do nothing. Then one day the ship sank and the magician found himself floating on a piece of wood with the parrot. They glared at each other but said nothing. Finally, after a week, the parrot said: 'OK, I give up. Where's the boat?'

My wings are aching and the eagle has landed, see you next month!
