The NHS Northern Gambling Service (NGS)  is available to provide specialist addiction therapy and recovery to people affected by gambling addiction, as well as those with mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, trauma and suicidal feelings. The NGS also provide intervention to people close to those with gambling addiction, such as family, Carers and partners.

They are a clinical team made up of psychologists, therapists, psychiatrists and mental health nurses. They are based in Leeds, Manchester and Sunderland.

Anyone approaching the NGS for help can expect to be met with understanding, compassion and a determination to make life better as quickly as possible. Once they accept your referral, you can expect to be seen as soon as both you and one of our team are available.

They will start with an assessment of your current situation, the problems you’re facing, and how this is affecting you, and use this information and work with you to come up with a personalised care plan. Then you'll move you into their active therapy programme.
