Hartlepool Young Carers

For over a year now, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust have been working closely with this Hartlepool Carers to provide support to our staff, patients, and hospital visitors. One of their dedicated team members, Jan Hollis, regularly visits hospitals to offer assistance and guidance.

Hartlepool Carers is a vital resource for unpaid carers of all ages, including young carers as young as five-years-old. Today, on National Young Carers Action Day, we want to recognize and celebrate the amazing work they do. Christine Fewster, the Chief Executive of NT&HFT, has stated, "We know there are over 2,000 young carers living in Hartlepool, many of whom face poverty, bullying, and health inequalities. As a community, we can all help by identifying these young carers and ensuring they receive the support they need at the earliest opportunity."
