Participation - Home page
Participation is about involving young people in the decision-making process
Do you feel listened to? Do you have a point to make about what happens for young people in the town? Do you want to stand up for your rights and have your voice heard?
Now you can with the support of the participation team!
We can offer you opportunities to get involved in real life decision making that can help you as an individual and can lead to change for you as well as other young people
As an individual we can support you in considering your best interests and needs and how then to express this to services / organizations who may have an influence upon your life (e.g. Schools, Social workers, Doctors, Family support workers etc.) We will support you in making sure your views are taken into account on matters that will affect you.
Participation why do we do it?
Children and young people are one of the largest user groups of public services, however recent research demonstrates we often fail to ask them about their experiences.
As 20% of the UK population is made up of children and young people under the age of 18, who are unable to vote, how can we ensure that they are able to exercise their right to have their views and opinion heard? The new coalition government is keen to make sure that young people are involved in the planning, design and evaluation of services that young people use, we can help you to be part of this in a fun way.
So what's in it for me?
