Book clubs

There are several book clubs in Hartlepool, including:

Tea and Talking reading group

The Tea and Talking reading group meets on the first Monday of every month at Seaton Carew Library.

Library manager Jospehine Bonner says: "Tea and Talking meets from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm for an informal chat about books and life, and we drink lots of tea and coffee!  We also have an occasional fun quiz."

Visit this group's event page.

Headland Library reading group

The Headland Library reading group meets on the first Tuesday of every month from 10 am until 11 am.

The group is free to attend and everyone is welcome.

Central Library reading group

Hartlepool's Central Library hosts a reading group on the first Thursday of every month, from 7 pm onwards.

The group gets together to read and discuss a variety of general fiction, from literary classics to contemporary crime.

Visit this group's event page.

Interactive reading group for adults with physical and learning disabilities

The Central Library on York Road hosts special interactive reading sessions for people who don't have strong reading skills.  The sessions use sound and touch experiences to help tell the stories - all of which are especially stimulating for those with sensory impairments.

Please contact each group to make sure they are still meeting before making a journey.  If you know of any reading groups you would like to add to this list, please contact us.
