Repairs to privately-owned homes

Connected Care Handyman service

Connected Care's handyman service carries out jobs around the home.  The service is available town-wide but not everyone is eligible for the service.  To find out more about the service and the eligibility criteria, visit the handyman service page.

OFCA Volunteer Initiative Project

Owton Fens Community Association (OFCA) runs the Volunteer Initiative Project, or VIP.

The volunteers of VIP offer a painting and decorating service for older people and people with disabilities.  You can find out if you are eligible for this service by contacting the Duty Team at Hartlepool Borough Council, or customer services at Housing Hartlepool (if you are a Housing Hartlepool tenant).

Hartlepool Trades Service

If you do not qualify for help from VIP, or need a plumber, electrician or other trades person, the Hartlepool Trades Service may help you.

Every tradesperson on the Trades Service list has been vetted.  This means that they have had a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check and have appropriate health and safety and insurance policies in place.

There is a charge for using a trades person from the Trades Service, but it is free to get a no-obligation quote.  Please visit our Trades Service page to find out more or to ask for a quote.
