Drop-in sessions and support groups

You can get advice and the help you need to give up smoking at any of Hartlepool's free drop-in Smoking Cessation sessions.  Sessions are held in different venues across Hartlepool, on every day of the week except Sundays.

Mondays

  • 5.00 - 7.00 pm at Rossmere Youth Centre, Rossmere Way, TS25 5EB

Tuesdays

  • 10.00 am - 12 noon at The Stranton Centre, Southburn Terrace, TS25 1SQ

Wednesdays

  • 2.00 - 4.00 pm at the Headland Medical Centre, 2 Groves Street, TS24 0NZ
  • 6.00 - 8.00 pm at the Fens Hotel public house, Catcote Road, TS25 2LT

Thursdays

  • 10.00 - 12 noon at Hartlepool Central Library, York Road, TS26 9DE
  • 1.00 - 3.00 pm at Sure Start,Rossmere Way, TS25 5EB
  • 4.30 - 6.30pm at Sure Start, Hindpool Close, TS24 0TB

Fridays

  • 10.00 - 11.30 am at Sure Start, Miers Avenue, TS24 9HH
  • 2.00 - 4.00 pm at Owton Rossmere Resource Centre, Wynyard Road, TS25 3LB

Saturdays

  • 10.00 am - 12.00 noon at Mill House Leisure Centre, Raby Road, TS24 8AR

Four pharmacies in Hartlepool are able to offer support ti people who want to stop smoking, provided they are registered with a GP in the town.

Free support in your own home

If you are not able to get to drop-in sessions, then the free SmokeFree Together Programme may be perfect for you.  The SmokeFree Together Programme is run by the NHS and has been specially designed by experts and ex-smokers.  When you join the SmokeFree Together Programme you will receive mail packs, text messages and emails to keep you motivated and help you quit smoking for good.

Alternative therapies

You may find alternative therapies such as acupuncture or hypnotherapy useful when quitting smoking.

The Hypnotherapy Directory is a free, confidential website which aims to help you find a hypnotherapist in your local area who is appropriate for your needs.  All hypnotherapists listed on the site have either sent a copy of their qualifications and insurance cover to The Hypnotherapy Directory, or are registered with a professional body with recognised codes of ethics and practice.
