Weight Management Groups
If you are trying to lose weight or lead a healthier lifestyle, Hartlepool's free Weight Management Groups could be just the thing for you.
With three separate groups based in three different venues across the town, you won't be too far from your nearest meeting. The groups are held on different days and at different times throughout the week to give as many people as possible the chance to join in.
What happens at a Weight Management Group?
The groups run for 13 weeks from 11 January (don't worry if you've missed the first few sessions - you can still join in). The friendly instructors lead fun interactive sessions to help you understand the different aspects of healthy eating, including:
- The 'eatwell plate'
- Good and bad fats, sugar and salt
- Portion sizes
- Understanding food labels and making recipes healthier
Your instructor will also be on hand to advise you on physical activity, with some optional exercise sessions taking place towards the end of the course.
When and where?
The next ten-week programme starts in the week beginning Monday 19 April. The informal meetings will be held:
- every Tuesday, from 10.30 pm until 11.30 am, in the Central Library on York Road;
- every Tuesday, from 2.30 pm until 3.30 pm, at Heronspool Close Community Centre on the Central Estate;
- and every Thursday, from 10 am until 11 am, at Seaton Carew Library on Station Lane
