Final stage of Hartfields retirement village is complete

The final apartments and cottages at Hartlepool's innovative new ‘extra care' retirement village, Hartfields, have now been completed.

Among the new residents is Jeff Green, Maintenance Manager for Hartfields.  Speaking about the move in early May with his wife Moira, he said: "Working at Hartfields I have been lucky enough to experience the village first-hand.  I was so impressed with what I saw that I jumped at the chance of owning an apartment.  I can now look forward to having time to relax and enjoy the on-site leisure facilities."

Hartfields has 242 homes, comprising of a mix of one and two-bedroom properties.  All are fitted with emergency call systems and the on-site care and support team provides assistance 24/7.  Residents and local people can enjoy an impressive range of on-site social and leisure facilities including a restaurant, coffee shop, hairdressing salon, library and computer suite.

Properties are available for purchase, part-purchase and rent, depending on individual financial circumstances. Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT) has introduced some short-term measures to help customers with a property to sell, including ‘buy now pay later' shared ownership and rental options.  People interested in owning or renting at Hartfields should contact Hartfields by email or on 01429 855071.
